RE: Where do you get your oil changed?

$59.00 plus tax is outstanding. I just purchased the oil filter and oil to do mine and I paid $10.00 for the filter and $51.00 for the oil(5gal.)

RE: Need Help for DP Air Bags

Not long ago someone posted with a problem with his air bags. A responder told him to raise the coach with the levelers while running. I think that solved his problem. I know on mine as the bags start to fill, you can hear a pop when the rubber stops break free.

RE: New to forum...Carfree awning

The Carefree of Colorado web site has a tech section that explains how to adjust each side. They are quick to respond to E-mail as well. Good luck

RE: Weather cracked tires - Go or No Go ??

I would much rather replace tires in a controlled situation and at a place of my choice. When you watch DBL or triple axle trailers back into a spot, you can see those tires take a beating. I would not take a chance. BTW my motorhome tires are looking the same as you describe. I will get new Goodyear's at a tune of $2800 before our first trip. That is if I get this darn bathroom remodel done.:M

RE: knew then what you know now

I'm with J Walker. There are things that I would like to upgrade to, but simply for more HP is not one of them. It seems that the price gap between gas and diesel fuel is closing somewhat.

RE: Monaco dash panels - self destructing on 2000 Windsor

Both the side console and the cluster panel on our 99 Diplomat had the same problem. However, I was able to order both last year from the dealer. I replaced the side and the dealer replaced the cluster. The old saying, " to much is just right" can't be used when working on these cheap (constructed) things.

Update to Cummins starting issue

My starting issue has been solved!! $207 dollars for a starter and around 30 minutes of my time, she starts like a champ! Now instead of the click, I hear the wonderful sound of that ISB coming to life. It turns out that it had a rebuilt on it already. Thanks again for all the input. May you all have a safe and happy camping season! TG

RE: CAT vs. Cummins???

Your signature shows you have a 13 year old Cummins. Has it been reliable for you? I have a Cummins in my 99 Dip and have only a few non Cummins issues, like a alt and possibly a starter. I think like anything, the proper care will make these things last and last.

RE: Jayco Acquires Travel Supreme to Build Class A!

I'm not sure after reading the press release that they took over Travel Supreme. It sounds to me like they acquired a building and a former President. One would think with a solid reputation like TS had, you would carry on with the namesake. I've always liked the TS line and hoped to buy one some day.

Keystone Fuzion slides

I have a friend that just purchased the 40ft model. They just returned from a trip to FL and found only a couple things he wishes he could change. The biggest is that he only has one switch that sends or retracts the three slides. In order to access the fridge, he needs to extend the kitchen slide which in turn sends them all out. He found he needed to be careful when taking breaks in reststops and parking lots. Is this common with most 5ers? Has anyone had theirs changed to independent switches?

RE: Cummins starting issue

Thanks all. I was thinking starter also. If we don't get the snow, I'll see if I can get it off. With my luck, I'm sure they won't be able to rebuild it like the alternator. Hopefully This is something I can do myself(remove that is.) I have money set aside for tires this year, not engine stuff.

Cummins starting issue

We have a 99 Diplomat with the 5.9 275HP Cummins. At the end of the season I had a issue with starting. On occasion, when the key was turned to the start position all I got was a click. If you cycled the key 4 or 5 times the engine would finally turn over and start. Over the winter I removed the 2 chassis batts and fully charged both prior to putting them on a Battery Minder. I have Interstate workaholic 31mha's. Both were replaced in 06 prior to the alternator being replaced. I just cleaned all the connections and put both Batts back into the coach. I again got the same condition. Turn the key 4 or 5 and get a click before it finally starts. I know batteries can cause strange conditions if bad, but I don't think these are as the engine eventually starts. Short of taking it to Cummins, any ideas? Starter perhaps?

RE: Diesel at $3.97/gal!!

Most stations here in Brighton Mi are selling diesel fuel at $4.19. By the time I get the MH out of storage, I'll see mid $4's. No sense in getting worked up, I can't control it, just be smarter on how I use it. The camping season will go on!

RE: tire balancing on class a

I spoke to a local shop for a out the door price on 6 Goodyear G670's(255-70r-22.5). She stated that price included balancing the steer axle only. BTW, she quoted $2484 OTD. I'm not sure if thats good or bad yet.
